is a family owned and operated business.
IMPERFECTO was born as an idea from Gloria Laverde (mom), who saw the opportunity behind the story that Carolina (daughter) told her every time she went out with a hand-painted jacket, everyone admired her jacket.
At the same time the Pandemic began, so Carolina Laverde and Jonatan Torres (cousin) were cut from their jobs and, with the support of Gloria, they started the business, where Jonatan was the Artist, Carolina the salesperson, and Gloria the main investor.
Overtime, they all started to paint and became Artists for IMPERFECTO Art.

Jonatan is an Artist born and based in Medellin, Colombia. He lives in a neighborhood surrounded by Graffiti, Art and Culture but at the same time a lot of lack of opportunities, poverty and violence; that is why he has focused his life on pursuing his dream of living through his art, which is why he has become a very skilled Painter for IMPERFECTO ART and also runs his own Tattoo Shop, while raise two little girls.
Jonatan was the first Artist who joined the IMPERFECTO Team and these have been some of his best artwork.

Hector is a Civil Engineer born in Medellin and currently lives in San Francisco, California. He has supported and invested in IMPERFECTO since its creation, also without experience but definitely a passionate about art, he thought about how important is that we all learn to paint, so he started on his own. Nowadays he has painted incredible jackets for IMPERFECTO, and he is one of the visible faces of IMPERFECTO participating in different pop ups in the city representing and selling IMPERFECTO jackets.
He is also a fundamental part of the decision making in our business and the brand speaks a lot about his favorite designs and passions.

Gloria is an artist born in Medellin and currently lives in Cali, Colombia. She worked all her life in databases of a public hospital and after her decision of retirement, ant the beginnings of IMPERFECTO she decided that she wanted to learn to paint, so she took classes with a Venezuelan teacher and soon she started to paint by herself. She is a free soul and paints what she is passionate about, and she is starting to be recognized by her own style as Fine Arts painter, a style that is quite different from the other artists, and her pieces of art have her footprint.
Gloria is also one of the investors, and the first promoter for the creation of IMPERFECTO as an independent brand.

Carolina is an attorney from Medellin, Colombia, currently living in San Francisco, California. When she decided to emigrate to another country with her husband, they both had a dream of creating a business, that way IMPERFECTO became a reality.
After talking to her mother about the opportunity they found in San Franciscans personalities, and how they would love a brand like IMPERFECTO, she looked around for places to sell the jackets. During this journey she also realized how important it was to help the artists paint when it comes to a custom project, since a jacket takes very long time for arrive from Colombia after being painted there, so she took over all the custom projects.
But first she had to take classes with a Russian teacher, after this she discovered that she also had a talent to explore.

She is also the community manager and responsible for customer service.

The IMPERFECTO team wants to promote responsible art/fashion and sustainability, that’s why we added to our team the master of the sewing machine who is the one who makes our Tote Bags by hand, she takes care of every detail of them so that we don’t give any plastic bags to our customers, but a cloth bag, and at the same time people will be able to reuse them unlimitedly.

She is in charge of the logistics and packaging of the shipments within the different states of Colombia, and to the United States, she is also in charge of the IMPERFECTO orders between artists and jacket distributors.
He is our delivery man within Medellin, or the one who takes our boxes to the shipping center.
All of them are a fundamental part in IMPERFECTO ART.
